Meet Laurie

A wife, mom, friend.

Laurie Brescia

Laurie grew up in Marietta, GA and graduated from Lassiter Highschool. She began working in the retail industry at the age of 14 and continued to do so through college, all the way up to the time she met her husband, John. Shortly after they met, she left the world of retail and began a journey through Information Technology and Marketing.

From 1998 - 2002, Laurie worked for Paradise Foods, Inc, the parent company of Heavenly Ham as the Information Systems Coordinator. In this role, she became proficient in trouble shooting, researching technological solutions to business issues, managing IT infrastructure maintenance and repairs, and was involved in the development of a corporate database system used to manage the back office, and website.

In 2002, after Paradise Foods was purchased by Honeybaked Ham, and Laurie's first son was born, she made the decision to stay at home. For 9 years her time was filled with volunteer work and small business ownership.

The first small business was an eBay "online yard sale". For two years, Laurie took goods from around the house, family, and friends and built a successful business of selling those goods for commission. It was through this process that Laurie was able to use the sales and marketing skills learned through 14 years of retail experience and the technical skills learned in IT to sell over 700 items and maintain a highly positive feedback score.

In 2008, Laurie joined Tupperware as a Sales Consultant. Very quickly she promoted up to Manager, and grew a sales team up to 36 consultants, further promoting to Director. All throughout her time with Tupperware, she created successful systems for self promotion, using a website, social media, email, personal relationships, and hard work.

As her two boys reached their middle school years, she chose to return to the work force as a part-time employee, rather than business owner. Her first stop was St Ives Country Club in Johns Creek. There Laurie produced the monthly newsletter mailed to club members each month. This is where technical skills married graphic design. Through Adobe inDesign classes, and years of experience, her proficiency exploded. Over the course of four years, her responsibilities grew to managing the club's website, social media, and email communications. The Tennis Pro also hired her to design and produce the Annual Pro-Member Tournament program and take event photography.

Most recently, in the fall of 2015, Laurie left her part-time position at St Ives to become the full-time Marketing Director for Blue Vault. During her tenure at Blue Vault, Laurie was responsible for all of the graphic design, editorial calendar, website content and maintenance, social media, corporate communications, I.T. systems, and event marketing. These roles further strengthened her proficiency in Adobe InDesign and Illustrator skills.
